June 30th - Lil' Chirp

Even though this isn't made even remotely like it, this Chirp reminds me of one of those fortune teller paper things we all used to make in grade school.  You know, with the numbers on the outside and the colors on the inside.  You would pick a number and open in alternating directions based on the number of letters in the color name and then based on the number you chose on the inside.  Then you picked another number and whatever was written behind that flap was your fortune.  It was a fun game to play as a kid!

June 29th - Beautiful Butterfly

This is one of my favorite of all the butterflies that I have done.  I like the crisp edges and the sharp points.  I think it might be cooler if there were some color variation, but I still like it.

June 28th - Bear Mask

Shouldn't masks have holes for your eyes?  If so, then this isn't really a mask at all.  What it IS is a very cute little bear.  I especially like the little ears and the hugely out of proportion nose.

June 25th - 27th - Starlight Kite

Alright, so I was a little slack on this one.  I guess I could have tied a string to this and taken a picture of it flying, or at the very least, blowing in a fan.  But seriously, I have 2 kids, who has time for that!?!

June 24th - Kangaroo

I want to go to Australia.  I actually have family there and people I know.  I mean, who doesn't want to go there?  But I have legitimate reasons to visit!  One of these days I will make it out there and see all the cool sights and meet my family as well!

June 23rd - Dog House

My real life dog doesn't even have a dog house.  He lives in my real life house.  Oh well, this little guy is pretty cute, so he can stay in his house.

June 22nd - His & Hers Shirts

I made these just before I went on an almost week long trip to St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands with my mom.  So these were actually hers and hers shirts.  It was a lot of fun to sit on the beach and by the pool, but I was happy to come home and see my kids and hubby again!  Thanks for taking me mom!

June 21st - Pendant

I always thought a pendant was one of those little triangular shaped flags that you wave at the football game at the ol' Alma Mater.....???  Whatever.

June 18th - Crown

I should memorize how to make this so that I can fold napkins this way.  I would feel totally special if I sat at a place setting with a napkin folded like this.  I think I might just feel like a Queen.  Of course according to my daughter, all you have to do to be royalty (a princess) is wear a dress!

June 17th - Seal

It seems to me as I look at this picture that this seal's head is a little too small for his body....and he needs a ball to play with.  Altogether a sad seal.

June 16th - Flipping Horse

So this guy is supposed to flip when you tap down on his tail.  It is very hard to make happen...I haven't been successful yet, but he's still a right cute little horse.

June 15th - Sea Turtle

I like this little dude, swimming along.  And he did such a good job in Finding Nemo.

June 14th - Sitting Eagle

Very American Indian/Tribal looking, yet still a little regal. The picture makes this look much cooler than it really is.

June 11th-13th - Big Gulper

This little dude is actually really cute, I just couldn't get a really good picture of him standing up.  He's a two-parter and the parts hook together.  Chomp chomp go his big teeth.  But my camera battery was running low so I was in a hurry to take the picture.  He's still kinda cute.

June 10th - Happy/Mad Dragon

I think you have to visualize here....so think teeth on the bottom....a nose in the middle....and that's one eye on the left....on this side the teeth are pointing up so it is happy....I just now figured this out from seeing the picture.  Maybe the other side the teeth are pointing down and so he is mad?
Otherwise, this one is pretty lame.

June 9th - Sunglasses

Seriously, these are the coolest sunglasses, like, ever.  Just, ever.

June 8th - Roadrunner

The best origamis are the ones that stand on their own.  Sometimes they are a little wobbly, but if they can stand up, you've definitely got a winner.

p.s.  I have no idea what (or if) I folded on June 7th.

June 5th - 6th - Monitor Lizard

What the hell is a Monitor Lizard?  I mentioned this to a friend of mine and she was like, "Oh, yeah, that does look like a Monitor Lizard."  Now, she lives in Texas, so maybe they have a lot of those down there or something, but I really have no idea.  I'm really only familiar with the little lizards that crawl on the outside of my house.  And the ones that I have seen at the aquarium, but I'm not even very familiar with those...it's not like I could name any...okay, to Google I go.  Yeah okay, I can see it...

June 4th - Dragonfly

Dragonfly, damselfly, butterfly, bee,
All in the garden, waiting for me.
Cricket, cicada, and katydid
All love to sing, especially when hid.
Spittle bug, stink bug, assassin bug, flea,
All these critters are better left be

June 3rd - Paloma

This picture turned out totally rockin!  It looks like something in a gallery or something...total luck that I got this shot!  Ha ha!  I have no idea what a paloma is...obviously some kind of bird of some sort.  Whatever it is, it is very photogenic!

June 2nd - Coaster 2

So, this will teach me not to check my camera before I move on to the next origami...this picture sucks!  Oh well, you get the idea.  It's a variation on the coaster from yesterday.  Still wouldn't use them for actual drinks...

June 1st - Coaster 1

I'm not sure if I would actually put a glass on here since that would totally mess up the paper, but it's a kind of cool thought.  I guess you could make this out of some other kind of paper and actually use it for a coaster....then that would be pretty cool.  Either that or get it laminated.  I used to love to use the laminating machine at the elementary school where I used to work.  I know, it's the little things.
